PCA launched Evergreen Child Advocacy Center in September of 2023.
Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) serve children and adolescents who are believed to be victims of abuse—most frequently, sexual abuse.
Most children don’t immediately disclose that they’ve been sexually abused. Many don’t tell for months or even years; some never tell. It can be a difficult story to tell. Our center is designed to be a child-friendly place where a child can safely tell their story. Agencies involved come together to observe the interview, and work on the child's behalf.

Forensic Interviews are provided to children, teenagers and vulnerable adults who may have been victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, or who may have been witness to a violent crime. These interviews are designed to gather the facts from a child in a manner that is developmentally appropriate, safe and comfortable for the child and family.

It is helpful for children to have an idea of what to expect on the day of a forensic interview. It is appropriate to briefly inform your child they will be meeting with someone who's job is to talk to kids. You can let them know they will be meeting to talk about whatever has been reported and that it is okay to tell the truth. Keeping it simple is key.
It is important to reassure your child to speak freely. It is also important not to rehearse with your child or tell them what to say. Please refrain from frequently asking questions about what was reported.
