Evergreen Child Advocacy Center

Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) serve children and adolescents who are believed to be victims of abuse, most frequently, sexual abuse. Evergreen Child Advocacy Center is Nationally Accredited and located in White Cloud, Michigan.

Most children don’t immediately disclose that they’ve been sexually abused. Many don’t tell for months or even years; some never tell. It can be a difficult story to tell. Our center is designed to be a child friendly place where a child can safely tell their story. Agencies involved such as law enforcement, cps, prosecutors come together to observe the interview, and work on the child's behalf.

Forensic Interviews are provided to children, teenagers and vulnerable adults who may have been victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, or who may have been witness to a violent crime. These interviews are designed to gather the facts from a child in a manner that is developmentally appropriate, safe and comfortable for the child and family. The interview process is developmentally sensitive and unbiased to support the fair and accurate decision-making in the criminal justice and child welfare systems. 

Our Child Advocacy Center works as a multidisciplinary team (MDT). An MDT is a group of professional from specific distinct principles that collaborates from the point of the report and throughout a child and family's involvement with our CAC. Our MDT coordinate the investigation and service delivery to mitigate potential trauma to children and families, to keep open lines of communication, provide evidence-based resources, and to help optimize a quality response. Our team works alongside advanced medical care and mental health care to ensure accessibility for our children.
